How are you guys and how are you enjoying sudden monsoon season? I have been MIA for months and I am extremely sorry for that as I had my JLPT which I just gave last to last Sunday and finally I got some time to give to my blog for a new post. Well, someone who seeks any kind of information about Japanese from Japanese institutes to how the language is and what all to keep in mind if you want to learn Japanese or whatsoever, can freely contact me via my email id or Instagram DM and I’ll surely help you out in the best possible way.
Coming back to today’s post, I’ll be reviewing Himalaya Herbals gentle exfoliating walnut scrub with natural oxidants which I have been using for more than a year now. Himalaya is one of my favorite brands since it offers great quality products at such affordable prices. So, let’s see how this scrub worked on me.
Product Description: Himalaya’s Gentle Exfoliating Walnut Scrub exfoliates dead skin cells to remove impurities that routine cleansing cannot tackle. It contains Crab Apple, a soothing antiseptic and keratolytic agent that helps loosen dead skin fragments. Walnut Shell granules scrub away dirt, blackheads and dead cells, and Wheat Germ Oil is a rich source of natural Vitamin E. These natural ingredients cleanse, nourish and moisturize your skin to make it soft, fresh and radiant.
- Crab Apple has antiseptic, cooling, soothing, nutritive and keratolytic properties. It reduces skin inflammation and helps remove dead skin fragments. It is also a rich source of vitamins and prevents skin cell degeneration and premature skin aging.
- Wheat Germ Oil, due to its high concentration of Vitamin E, along with proteins and natural antioxidants, is ideal for most skin types. It is the perfect ingredient for our face scrub as it nourishes the skin and boosts the skin’s elasticity.
- The exfoliating micro-particles in Walnut Shell scrub away dirt, blackheads and dead skin cells.

How To Use:
Packaging: The product comes in a white squeezy tube with a green flip top cap with labels having information about the product on front and back side of the tube. The packaging is quite convenient to use as well to take along.
Fragrance: It has something medicinal kind of smell which is not so pleasant but at the same time not irritating for me.
My Experience: This scrub is having a creamy texture with orange and brown granules (see in the picture below). I have combination skin type and my T-zones are extremely oily which attracts lots of dirt easily and thus, whatever I do to prevent blackheads, I still have lots of them and thus scrubbing at least once a week is a must for me. I apply this scrub over my damp face and neck and gently massage in circular motions concentrating more on the areas I am prone to oil and blackheads. The granules might feel a little harsh on skin if you will massage the product on the face with a little pressure, so please be extremely gentle because we don’t want our skin to end up looking all red. I massage this scrub for not more than 10 minutes and then wash off with water. I used a blackhead remover tool to check whether there were more blackheads/ whiteheads and yes there were. After washing off again, I run ice over my face to close pores followed with Patanjali Aloe Vera Gel. After washing off, the skin still feels moisturized due to wheat germ oil in it. Talking about blackheads, it works on them quite well although not in just one go. As you start using this scrub regularly, you’ll start noticing a difference in your blackheads. It also imparts a great glow to my face with less blackheads and dead skin cells everytime I use it. Frankly, if you’re looking for a product which completely vanishes away your blackheads or whiteheads, this is not the scrub for you but with such a minimal price, I cannot expect more from this product.
